The Gucci Marmont
Today I’m re-sharing some old photos that I took straight after I took the plunge and treated myself to the Gucci Marmont bag. One year on I wanted to share my thoughts on the bag, maybe it’ll help you decide on wether to treat yourselves!
I had been eyeing this bag up for a good 18 months before I actually purchased it, and in that time I watched and read SO many reviews to make sure it was worth the price tag. Some girls had said they thought the Gucci Marmont was a trend item, and that it wouldn’t hold its value. Contrary to this I have realised the bag now costs £300+ more than when I got it, so definitely a good investment!
I went for the medium and this easily fits my wallet, keys, phone, charger, make-up… all the everyday essentials! I would say the small is a little too small, and the large is unnecessarily big (for me anyway)! I also chose black, primarily because this was my first designer bag and I wanted something timeless, classic & practical.
I have certainly got my cost per wear out of this little beauty. It comes with me on holiday, perfectly suiting every climate. From a little slip dress in the summer to a full faux fur jacket in the Winter. I haven’t found anything this can’t be styled with, it instantly ‘chics’ up any look.
I was a little worried about the gold hardwear, as my every day jewellery tends to be silver – however again I’ve not had an issue with this & actually kind of like mixing the two tones now.
One year on and the leather has maintained its soft touch, and the bag has held its shape well. It can look a little flat when not filled with all my junk, so I’d just say remember to stuff the bag with tissue when not in use.
The ‘trend piece’ comment did worry me a bit, as Guccis popularity online right now is insane ( for good reason)! However in black I can’t see how this bag will ever date, I believe it can stand the test of time as a staple in my wardrobe for years to come.
No regrets, I recommend this bag to each and every one of you.
