JOANNE HYNES AW17
‘A complicated relationship with…’
I was lucky enough to watch Joanne Hynes AW17 presentation during London Fashion Week and I’m so glad, as this designer is a new discovery for me. I didn’t know what to expect and I left the show feeling really inspired – I literally can’t get this military jacket off my mind! The attention to detail in every look was so perfect, from the costume jewellery right down to the floral tights – the models minimal make-up made sure the styling was your sole focus.
I wasn’t kidding about the military jacket. I. NEED. IT.
The collection had a real gothic ‘romantic’ feel and the mood was set by a beautiful violinist playing the likes of Depeche Mode and Joy division. 3 things that are bound to get me hooked, let’s be honest!
Most of the models were styled with the above ‘cat lady’ bag adding a little bit of fun to an otherwise quite grown-up show.
Including the military jacket I apparently won’t stop talking about, the rest of the outerwear shown really caught my attention. There’s a few long black coats with ruffled and feather detailing which I can 100% envision myself wearing this A/W.
I’m definitely going to be taking away the idea of big jewelled collars, playful tights, more is more jewellery and of course.. the military jacket is firmly on my wishlist.
This was a ‘see now buy now’ collection available online via www.dunnesstores.com – at a reasonable price too!
