I am beyond thrilled to say that I attended a handful of shows at London fashion week this season. Thinking back to the beginning of the year and debating wether to start, doing it.. then actually telling people about it.. to a few months down the line getting to see some SS18 collections first hand at actual LFW is actually surreal to me.

I’ve posted about some of the shows I attended here and here, and photos taken of me on the day are below. Yep, that’s just me being captured for ‘best street style at LFW’ by Elle magazine. Actual Elle magazine. Like I said, very surreal!!

My dress is from Mango linked here, with a plain black H&M jumper (similar here) and Gucci Marmont bag available here.

If you haven’t seen my social media (@thefashiongothh) or blog posts here, here and here just yet (where have you been)?! then you wouldn’t know I’ve spent the last 12 days soaking up the glorious Mexican sun. It couldn’t be a monthly update/favourites without including the beautiful boutique hotel ‘beloved playa mujeres’. I’ve had a wonderful time away, just me and Tom, and am not looking forward to turning off my OOO one bit.

If you’re looking to stay in Mexico I would 100% recommend this hotel!

This ASOS dress was definitely my favourite item to wear in Mexico. I always buy pieces that I can re-wear multiple times and this little white dress looked great with all the accessories I had brought (Mango earrings, gucci bag, cult gaia bag, princetown loafers, Miu Miu ballerinas). Very flattering and also super duper cheap.. you can’t go wrong at all!

The sentence ‘girls meets ‘ sold this book for me, and although I really wanted to love this book I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d wanted to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a book I’d recommend to my peers – especially those that work in the service industry who will relate a lot more to the way sweetbitter is written. The fact that the author Stephanie was only 21 when she wrote this is really impressive and the storyline is strong and relatable. The only thing that left me feeling a little undersold was the ending and never finding out what was going on between Jake and Simone. The book hasn’t been set up for a sequel and so I imagine I will never find out about their complicated relationship and this is beyond frustrating to me!!

How to murder your life
If you haven’t heard of Cat Marnell before, this one is still a really interesting read. It’s a memoir of her self destructive life, including her time working as a beauty editor for Conde de naste whilst being completely fucked up on a cocktail of drugs. She talks a lot about her battle between ambition and addiction and she is brutally honest and humorous throughout. I couldn’t put this book down and have since read a lot of her other articles and interviews online.

Balmain x L’Oréal was the most viewed post this month! It still blows my mind that any of my posts have any views at all, so thank you to those of you that are reading this!
