The Miami Diaries Part 3 – South Beach

South Beach

Most people probably choose to stay in the South Beach area of Miami, and I can certainly see why! We came down to South beach 3 or 4 times during our stay – it’s just so beautiful here!! We’re not really ‘clubbers’ or big drinkers so I can’t tell you if the nightlife’s as good as they say – but I can tell you that the beach is gorgeous, there’s palms everywhere, every corner is pastel coloured with a real 80’s vibe…

Daycation at The Confidante

I’d seen The Confidante on instagram thanks to the photo worthy pastel striped sun loungers and fringed umbrellas on the beach. I messaged them to see if they offered Day Passes and they pointed me in the direction of Daycation. It’s a website that shows you which hotels in the area offer day passes and easily book all in one place – The confidante was only £35 pp/pd inc. beach, pool and hotel facility access.

Feana is potentially the nicest hotel I’ve ever stepped foot in. Think Hollywood glamour and beautiful artwork – inc. Damien Hirsts Mammoth Sculpture overlooking the beach front. If money was no object I would design my home the exact same way. From the leopard print themed bar area to the red and white striped pool theme – I was in awe of the whole building. We visited to see the sculpture and have a drink, also hoping to visit the Saxony bar, which of course was closed on the one day we went!! When we come back to Miami I 100% will be staying here!!

Shopping in South Beach

I really loved this area to shop in Miami – Home to my new favourite ever store Kith, and one of Toms faves ‘Round Two’. Shopping here is so relaxed, it’s pretty cool going to a concept store with all your favourite brands, then stepping out to palm trees and white sand.

Kith houses a really amazing mix of brands – Helmut Lang, Palm Angels, Ashley Williams and Laura Lombardi to name a few. Kiths own brand is also amazing (& stocked on net-a-porter)! I picked up an embroidered crop shirt & crest tee which I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of on the blog!

Round Two Hollywood

Round Two is a re-sell/vintage/second-hand men’s streetwear store stocking brands such as Supreme, Bape, Stone Island ect.. If you’re after rare/sold out/collectible items then you’ll love it here!

The Webster

Chanel, Balenciaga and Celine are among the stocked brands at The Webster, the high end designer boutique located in a really beautiful art-deco building in the heart of Miami Beach. It’s worth a visit for the decor alone, I didn’t get many photos but I haven’t ever been in a store that housed luxury but also felt like I was in someone’s home!

Where to eat

We actually got a bit caught up in the sun and the sand and didn’t eat out much in this area but I have a few places I’d love to go back to and are worth the shout out:

Bacon Bitch

The atmosphere here is amazing, the staff are so friendly and the food was delish!! I had a croissant with bacon, egg and hash browns and I really wish I had photographic evidence of it!

The iconic Versace mansion has been converted into a boutique hotel and restaurant. One to book for a special occasion and the chance to step inside the home of Gianni Versace.

Bird and Bone

Bird and Bone (as you might’ve guessed) is a southern/country themed restaurant hosted within The Confidante hotel. From hot chicken through to ham & cheese boards, it’s an excuse for us to come back to this hotel!!
